   Sheila and Chip,

   I’ve been following your blog, and your journey, since I read the article about your family in The Washington Post. Having lost my 21-year-old son to cancer (rhabdomyosarcoma) three years ago, I know something about the emotional roller coaster you’re riding.

   I also know that hearing a success story can feel like you’ve been tossed a life preserver to cling to. I happened upon this blog and thought it might cheer you: http://outlivinglungcancer.com/. I love the writer’s spirit; her writing reminds me in some ways of yours, Sheila.

   I look forward to reading your blog six, seven, eight years from now and hearing how well Chip is doing and how you all are thriving — especially those beautiful children of yours!
